Yellow Feather (YF) started as a feeling.
A longing, really—
for a place to belong.
Not just in geography,
but in rhythm.
In values.
In energy.

Something slower.
Rooted in nature, but full of feeling.
A place where people could rest, connect, and just be—
without needing to explain who they are or why they came.

Not polished.
But intentional.
Quietly beautiful.
Unapologetically gentle.

It all began in December 2021,
when we secured a plot of land now lovingly
known as The Secret Garden.

Before Yellow Feather had a name, there was AQ Studio—our in-house branding and marketing arm for soulful founders and purpose-led brands.

Rooted in our founder’s expertise as a marketing strategist and brand architect, AQ Studio became the first expression of the vision.

In August, we visited the garden for the very first time—still untamed, raw, and full of promise.

That December, we cleared the land—cutting away debris, unwanted trees, trash, and stubborn roots.
We made our first Instagram post.
And just like that, the dreaming began.

With time, AQ Studio became the root system—
quietly funding the Secret Garden through creative work, nurtured by early believers we now call the Yellow Feather Patriots (or simply, Patriots).

That year, we built a back wall, planted our first border plants, and then paused to breathe.

Even in the quiet, the vision kept growing.

Then, in June 2023, the name finally arrived.
During a deeply personal and heavy season in her life, our founder found quiet comfort in the presence of a tiny yellow-bellied sunbird—a daily visitor to her window and the Secret Garden.

From its golden belly came Yellow Feather: a symbol of presence, softness, and joy in everyday moments.
A reminder to be where your feet are—
and to carry lightness, even in heavy times.

Throughout the year, the garden bloomed.
We planted shrubs, bushes, and bamboo, laid grass, and watched the land begin to speak back.

Lavender took root.
Peaches and avocados surprised us.

In September, something beautiful happened:
Our first tree planting ceremony.

Each Patriot picked, named, and planted a young tree in the Secret Garden—a shared ritual of rooting ourselves into the soil and the story of Yellow Feather.

It was the first time the Patriots gathered in person—
to step into the space we had all been dreaming of together.

That same day, Midnight Munchies—our late-night pick-and-mix sweet and snack delivery service—also made its debut, with our signature packs of nostalgic treats.

Soon after, we launched a digital tree map—
so every Patriot could find their tree, visit it each time they returned,
and feel part of something still growing.

In December, our seasonal open-air cinema, Yellow Feather Cinema (YFC) softly launched with “Xmas Under the Stars.” We also hosted our first charity screening in partnership with Return Happiness to Kids—bringing the magic of cinema to orphaned children.

Around this time, we made our Instagram page public, inviting more hearts into our journey.

By then, a quiet community had already begun to form—
in DMs, in gentle gatherings, and in the hush of the garden.

In January, the cinema returned with “New Years Under the Stars", gently shaped by feedback from the first screening.

By February, the path had become clearer.

And on March 3rd, the wider Yellow Feather community officially found its name: The Sunbirds.

We’re just getting started.
The Yellow Feather ecosystem is slowly taking flight—
soft, steady, and deeply rooted.

YFC and Midnight Munchies softly premiered this past season, giving a few lucky Sunbirds a first taste of what’s to come. The response? Quiet joy, shared under the stars.

This May, we’ll host our first festival pop-up under the night sky.
